I believe that many still consider midlife and menopause to be one the same, My experience begs to differ. “Midlife” takes place approximately between the ages of 40 and 60, give or take a few years. One common belief about this stage of life is that you should expect to face inner turmoil about your identity, life choices, and mortality

My signs were clear! My confidence and drive was lacking, my purpose questioned, feeling unfulfilled, regardless of all the wonder in my life, and making impulsive decisions, in order to fill my voids. And, eventually, I also began to question my marriage.

I married my high school sweetheart at the young age of 25. We were not much older than my children. Insanity! My marriage, defining my marriage…. an exciting, highly volatile union, the blind leading the blind, immature young adults playing house, a heart wrenching love, an exhilarating passion….It was all of these and so much more. And ultimately we became 2 grown adults, who had outgrown one another,

For the next 3 years, I was a train wreck. I separated from husband, lost a significant amount of weight, changed my hair, began drinking, my cherished bottle of chardonnay, daily, and joined the dreadful dating world. I was officially in crisis mode. I was MIDLIFE MOM!
