I just got back from a 10 day vacation and I’ve missed journaling.
I’d like to fast forward to a 130 days ago when I walked into my doctors office hoping to discuss my “perimenopausal” symptoms. I had previously done bloodwork and was told that I entered this phase, as my estrogen was low. My symptoms…..extreme itching all over, night sweats, irritability, cold hands and feet, and twitching in my legs. Only two of these symptoms are clearly known to be indicators of perimenopause. But the google doctor that I am typed in the other symptoms and found nothing of significance pointing, my other ailments, to this diagnosis.
While discussing all of this with my doctor, he also brought up my high blood pressure and borderline glucose levels. He then proceeded to ask me about my drinking habits. Of course I was perplexed and irritated…the nerve of this man! I was not there to talk about my consumption of alcohol. Clearly I lied….”2-3 glasses per day,” I said He smirked and said, “Sometimes 4 or 5.” And I nodded and said, “On special occasions.” And he stared me in the eyes and sighed. He knew I was full of #$%#!
I have to run into a meeting but I will continue this story this week!
